Is the synthetic lube they mention the same stuff as the Penetrol that Mike sells? A Penetrating lube?

When I take my kart to the car wash, I hit the chain hard.
Then I use WD-40, then I take it off when I get home and soak it in the oil I drain out of the engine and thats to get the oil in between the pins and rollers. A chain doesn't stretch, it wears between the pins and rollers which makes it appear its stretching. So to get the lubricant into those areas is why I soak my chains.
I then just use a rag to clean off the excess, and reinstall the chain.

At the track, I use whatever lubricant I have at the time. Lately it has been MOTUL Chain Lube that McIntire gave me. I will use anything thats FREE, or cheap over the counter. Thats because I try to lube my chain between each run. It will actually save the teeth on the steel drivers whereas the aluminum teeth seem to last a long time.
