COOLERS & BLANKETS ANNOUNCEMENT FOR COWTOWN NATIONALS!

Postby dmanTX » Wed Oct 08, 2008 7:18 pm

Due to the size of the crowd projected (and based off the huge response to advance tickets sales promotion) for the Cowtown Sprint Nationals and the November Sprint Shootout, the following rules for the stands will be strictly enforced:

1) If you choose to bring in a cooler, it must be the size of a 6-pack, it must also fit inside 'frame' at the entry way, and it must be placed beneath your legs in the stands. Coolers cannot occupy seat space or walk space. If you bring a cooler and it doesn't meet these requirements, your cooler will not be allowed in.

Remember, many tracks don't even allow ANYTHING to be brought into the track, so please follow this request for these two events.

2) Blankets must be contained to exactly the number of people in your group. Meaning, if you have 3 people in your group, your blanket can cover 3 seats. If your blanket is spread out across the entire row or walkway, you will be asked to contain it so people can get by or have a place to sit.

There are many MANY people headed to Cowtown for the first time ever.

We've received ticket purchases from people as far West as Utah, as far south as Corpus Cristi and as far north as Nebraska.

Please make sure you take a moment to follow these two simple requests, so we all have a great weekend of racing action.

And one final comment. Get to know the person next to you, I'm sure there's going to be a lot of interesting new fans in the stands from all corners of the country!

See you all on Friday for what's shaping up to be the most highly anticipated race in Texas this year!

And at least it's not going to be 100 degrees - so if you're forced to get 'cozy' with your neighbor, maybe it will be an added bonus before the night is through...

What about the large stadium seats that take up 2 spaces, meaning they lean back so far that no one can pass behind you much less sit behind you. At least on a blanket you can sit forward and share. Also, I still see lawn chairs being brought in aren't those a no no as well?

We will patrol this as much as possible. If you yell all your neighbors then the word will get around. Stadium seats are fine if they are not huge.

THANK YOU for everyone's help and understanding with these two requests last Saturday night.

I saw a few people going to their cars to 'restock' their smaller coolers from time to time. So that appeared to be a good solution too, as the parking lot is so close to the stands.

But it really helped make it all comfortable for the fans that attended. And we had the largest crowd the track had seen in about 3 years.

We will follow the same procedure on the November Sprint Shootout on Nov. 7-8. Hope to see many of you there - click www.CowtownSpeedway.com for complete event details.

I remember several years back that Cowtown had crowds that large on regular Sat. racing.
